This is the poster I created for Unit 4. My poster was created using simple brush tools and a gradient for the background.
My inspiration for this poster came from various different area's such as Pablo Picasso. I also looked at other examples such as the James Bond posters. The themes I rsearched were Graffitti, Banksy, retro and black and white. I researched these themes so that I had a better understanding and also so that I used various sources of research.
The poster was created by using a simple typeface. This was 'Bolton'. This was used as it gives the poster a formal appearance.
The patterns alongside the image were done by using a simple brush tool. Again, I wanted to create simplicity. Therefore, I stuck to simple colours and the brush itself. I stamped this across the page and placed my text towards the center of the page.
The essential details such as where, when and the title itself were placed on the poster. Other elements were not added as the poster will then appear overcrowded and this would then make the poster apppear less professional.
The reason for using the colour green was so that it blended with the text and with the brush tool. The background was created by using the gradient so that it enhanced the poster and so that it looked less dull.
Finally, the Shipley College logo was added as this is symbol of Shipley College.
Overall, I wanted my poster to be simple yet revealing. Meaning that the poster itself was simple and that it revealed all the neccessary details.
